Budapest – A Tale of Two Cities

Sights of the Ancient Greco-Roman Ruins of Hierapolis & the Awe-inspiring Pamukkale (Cotton Castle as popularly called) – Antalya, Turkey

Back in 2014, I took a 12-day trip to Turkey. We landed in Istanbul late in the evening from where we took a connecting flight to Antalya. My journey from Antalya, the fifth most populous city in Turkey, and across the southwest coast of Turkey, was rewarded with breath-taking views of the Taurus mountains and the Mediterranean. The highlights for me really were the breath-taking views across Anatolia and the Aegean region, local Turkish foods, visits to the ancient city of Hierapolis and to Pamukkale (Cotton Castle), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed over a millennia by the flowing of thermal spring water.
